The world’s most important climate conference has officially begun. World leaders, NGOs, corporations, and activists are gathering in Glasgow to discuss the impacts of the climate emergency and how we can best tackle humanity’s greatest challenge.
We Don’t Have Time has launched the COP26 Backdoor broadcast series to give people around the world a unique opportunity to follow what is happening during the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow.
Organized by We Don’t Have Time (WDHT), the Exponential Roadmap Initiative, Ericsson, Business Sweden, and the Nordic Co-operation, the broadcasts premiere on November 1st and run through November 12th.
Additional partners include the UN Development Programme, TEDx Glasgow, Afrigod, the International Chamber of Commerce, and more.
While the broadcasts focus primarily on updates from the climate conference, attendees will have a chance to hear from more than 250 speakers in the climate sphere, marking the social network’s fourth Exponential Climate Action Summit.
The event features a myriad of leading voices, including Kaja Kallas, Prime Minister of Estonia; Ibrahim Thiaw, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification; Dr. Johan Rockström, Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research; Bianca Pitt, Co-founder of SHE Changes Climate; and Kate Brandt, Chief Sustainability Officer at Google.
We Don’t Have Time’s Catarina Rolfsdotter-Jansson, Nick Nuttall, and Dr. Sweta Chakraborty will host the broadcasts alongside Anita Soina, Dr. Robert Ndungu Josphine, Olga Grönvall Lund, and Pär Larshans.
